The Journey
I didn't set out to become an AI skeptic. I started as an entrepreneur who believed technology could solve real problems for real people. Over 25 years, I've built e-commerce platforms, scaled online businesses, and watched countless tech revolutions promise to change everything.
Most failed spectacularly. A few succeeded beyond anyone's wildest dreams. The difference? Intellectual honesty about what the technology actually did versus what the marketing claimed it could do.
Today's AI landscape feels familiar. The hype cycles, the venture capital feeding frenzies, the breathless predictions about consciousness and intelligence. I've seen this movie before—and I know how it ends when we mistake statistical prediction for genuine understanding.
Why Insiders AI Journal Exists
In 2015, I founded FB Insiders Report, a monthly training on how to leverage digital ads to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and audience. In 2022, I pivoted the monthly report into what is now known as "Insiders AI Journal" because entrepreneurs and business leaders deserve better than vendor marketing disguised as industry analysis. They need someone who's been in the trenches, who understands both the promise and the peril of emerging technology.
Every month, I deliver practical intelligence on AI tools, implementation strategies, and—most importantly—where the landmines are buried. Not because I'm anti-AI, but because I'm pro-results.
The goal isn't to slow innovation. It's to separate signal from noise so you can build something that actually works.
My Approach
I believe in three principles that guide everything I write and teach:
Truth-telling over speculation. I've spent decades stress-testing technology claims against real-world results. When I see gaps between promise and performance, I call them out—regardless of who's writing the checks.
Practical intelligence over theoretical frameworks. Academic debates about machine consciousness are fascinating. But if you're trying to decide whether to deploy an AI system in your business, you need different information: error rates, implementation costs, liability exposure.
Long-term thinking over short-term hype. The AI revolution is real, but it's not happening on the timeline the press releases suggest. Understanding the actual adoption curve helps you make better strategic decisions.
What I'm Working On
Through Insiders AI Journal, I'm building a community of entrepreneurs who value candor over spectacle. Each month, we dive deep into:
